Virtual Dedicated Servers FAQ

What is the difference between ZZ Servers Xen VPS Servers and shared hosting?

Hosted Xen virtual machines are superior to shared hosting because they get their own dedicated operating system and are fully isolated from other virtual machines on the server hardware. As a result, customers no longer have to worry about having their hosted service overrun by another service on the same machine. In addition, users have full root access to manage the server how they wish.

What are the benefits of a ZZ Servers Xen VPS over Dedicated Physical Server?

Xen based virtual servers deliver better availability than dedicated servers because they can be migrated from one server to another in real-time known as live migration. Xen based virtual servers are also easier to scale without purchasing additional hardware and with minimal downtime. They are also more secure because each virtual machine is completely abstracted from the hardware and isolated from other virtual machines.

  • Disaster Recovery - A major benefit in moving to a ZZ Servers Xen VPS is disaster recovery, with virtual machines easily able to be moved between hardware nodes and rebuilt from backups in minutes or hours, not days.

  • Rapid Deployment - We provision and deploy your virtual server in minutes, there's no need to build a physical server and install software. It couldn't be easier or more cost effective. Memory, disk space, and processors can be scaled up or down as your needs change.

  • Performance - ZZ Servers Xen virtual servers are deployed on enterprise-grade server hardware in our data centers with multi-homed network redundancy and high speed RAID arrays for high availability and unmatched performance.

  • Cost Effective - Instead of purchasing and continually upgrading expensive server hardware, ZZ Servers Xen servers are available for at a fraction of the cost of dedicated hardware. As technologies develop, associated hardware is also upgraded at no additional cost.

How fast is your network your network?

All servers are connected to our gigabit ethernet backbone, guaranteeing your access to multiple redundant gigabits of premium Tier-1 bandwidth.

How is bandwidth usage calculated?

Incoming and outgoing bandwidth is tracked at the switch for each server registered to your account.
