ZZ Servers, a leading provider of shared and dedicated PCI-compliant hosting, has announced a new HIPAA hosting platform powered by InterWorx, the advanced web hosting control panel , to provide secure and standards-compliant hosting to a wide range of SMB and enterprise clients.

The InterWorx Control Panel allows ZZ Servers to deploy and manage a PCI Level 1 validated shared hosting platform that also conforms to numerous other regulatory and industry standards. PCI DSS is the mandatory industry standard for companies handling, storing, and transporting credit card data. ZZ Servers chose to use InterWorx rather than competing products such as cPanel because of its ease of use and standards-based design, which reduces the complexity of server management, allowing for the fast deployment of highly secure server clusters.

InterWorx 5 is a comprehensive web hosting control panel for web hosting companies, hosting resellers, web development agencies, and end-users. With features including powerful cluster management, advanced IPv6 support, and firewall, database, and DNS management tools, InterWorx provides a complete Linux server and multi-server cluster management environment.

“We built InterWorx to be the most flexible and feature-rich hosting control panel available and we love the innovative solutions that our customers create with our technology,” said Paul Oehler, CTO of InterWorx, “ZZ Servers’ secure hosting environment is a great example of what can be built using InterWorx when it’s put to work by experienced and expert hosting specialists.”

ZZ Servers’ PCI/Secure shared hosting environment uses InterWorx to deploy web servers and database servers on separate firewalled networks. The secure environment implements host intrusion detection, network intrusion detection, file integrity monitoring, and log monitoring. Web connections are protected by the Hyperguard Application firewall. Management access, including via the control panel, is secured with an encrypted VPN tunnel using two-factor authentication. ZZ Servers’ secure shared hosting environment is one of few that have successfully been validated as PCI Level 1 compliant.

“We have used InterWorx in our secure shared and dedicated hosting environments for many years,” commented Peter Zendzian, Managing Partner of ZZ Servers, “I have found InterWorx easy to work with, which means we can concentrate on building the secure solutions our clients need. The major advantage of InterWorx is its standards-based design. cPanel does not use standard configuration files for services. InterWorx does, so management of servers is much easier.”

The InterWorx Control Panel provides web hosting companies like ZZ Servers the server management tools they need to build secure, scalable, and reliable hosting platforms.
